Eastbourne Half Marathon 2010 photos

Adrian Carey has shared some fantastic shots from the sunny Eastbourne Half Marathon on 42run. Although the weather looked just as good at Milton Keynes where we covered MK Half on Sunday, there was one thing in Eastbourne you can’t beat – the sea. Photos from the race look like holiday snaps (in the very best way) – sun, sea and some people running, if only every Sunday was like this…

South London 10k photos

No, not again! Last weekend it was raining cats and dogs in Brighton when we were covering Sussex Beacon Half Marathon and although today the weather wasn’t biblical, it just had to rain again. However, we learned our lesson and found a nice (and dry!) place to snap the runners in the rain this time. We’re uploading some 400 free snaps for you now  and hoping the rainy runs will be gone by spring… which is like… by tomorrow!

Sussex Beacon Half Marathon 2010

Today we are out shooting at Sussex Beacon Half Marathon. We covered it last year and couldn’t resist coming back again. The photos will be up by the evening once we finish our sightseeing – you know, the sea, the pier, seagulls and all that..

Update 1: It wasn’t exactly the best day for sightseeing (neither it was for taking photos or running). I am pretty impressed that our cameras are still working after all the water they’ve seen today and actually managed to snap quite a few decent photos. Our first batch of free photos is being uploaded now, follow us on twitter or facebook for updates.

Update 2: Last 400 photos from the day are being uploaded now. If you have any photos to share follow the instructions on How it works page and share them with runners on 42run. Below are some of our best photos from the day, go to http://42run.com/x/h for more rainy snaps.

Lovely run before the Valentine’s day. Even though the race started an hour later than expected and we were freezing by that time it was still great fun.  You could feel it in the air, you know.. that crazy little thing.. you could see that everyone was having a ball.

Watford Half Marathon photos

Today we covered Watford Half Marathon 2010. Although it was the longest race we covered this year it certainly seemed like the opposite. The runners were having so much fun it was hard to take photos while laughing and trying to keep the camera still. Check out a few snaps from the race below.

Update: Started uploading photos to 42run.com, will update here once all done. All done, more than 3000 photos are now online.

South of England Cross Country Championships 2010 photos

Just came back from SEAA XC Champs in Hampstead Heath. Great race, amazing supporters (even more impressive than last year). And by amazing I mean absolutely the loudest and most original supporters I have seen (heard) so far. Check out  some 20 seconds of recorded action here: audioboo recording.

A few thousand photos are being uploaded now, will update here once all done.

All our uploads are now finished, 3960 free photos are online at 42run.com. If you have any photos from the event it’s really easy to share them with the world on 42run.com. Upload your snaps to flickr, tag with runner bib numbers, 42run, seaaxc10 and after submitting them to our group on Flickr your photos will be available to anyone on 42run.com. It’s that simple.

Become our fan on Facebook or follow us on twitter and you’ll be the first to know when new photos are uploaded.

Official Facebook page

Today is the day. We officially launch our Facebook page.
For those who have been asking us how to become a fan – here’s the answer:

42run on Facebook

As if the chance of becoming a fan of 42run wouldn’t be enough, we are also making all our photos available on Facebook where you can comment on them and show off to your friends. We’re not disappearing from here, only making everything we do available on Facebook for all of you who can not live without it (you know who you are).

Unbelievable race, although hard to get to, it was totally worth the effort. I mean who would skip a race where the notes on the map say “This is a military training area. DO NOT TOUCH suspicious objects…”

We have taken a few thousand free photos for you and there was no doubt which would describe the event best. Have a look below and you’ll understand why.

Time

When we first started taking photos in races years ago it seemed that everyone is running for the fun of it, taking it easy, enjoying the views, waving and smiling to the camera. I don’t know when it started to change, but it had to happen pretty fast.

It’s nowhere near what it was these days, everyone is so busy, running somewhere, always late for everything even though they wear those ridiculously large watches. You’d think one can see the time on it half a mile away, but everyone just keeps on looking at them. All the time..

Okay, okay, enough ranting, it wasn’t exactly everyone, some of them looked like really enjoying this fine event – waving and smiling, sprint finishing and taking it easy…all good. But still, why look at those huge watches?
